Hello …!!!
I am H S Rana, hailing from a very small, remote village of Chamba District in Himachal Pradesh, India. Born to very simple, religious parents, received a natural sense of gratitude towards the creator, the universe, and compassion, love, and respect towards my fellow-creatures including even the smallest existence. Got my basic education in the village itself, High School from a nearby school, and inter from Baira Siul Central School. Joined a professional institution at Shimla and passed a 2 years diploma course in civil design and simultaneously completed a graduate degree.
My childhood was full of struggle and because of the grace of my parents, their teachings, and positive motivation, my mind and heart were always full of enthusiasm to achieve something unique in life and give my life true meaning. Struggled a lot and prepared for UPSC exams and simultaneously for state services. Once when I was a student in 7th class, a unique incident happened. Deputy Commissioner Chamba visited our Tehsil Headquarters and he wanted to address the local students. We were also taken to listen to his speech though our school was Lil far-off from the Tehsil headquarters. We reached there on foot and listened to what DC was saying. I was not really interested in what he was saying, perhaps my mind was not that ripe to receive the information that DC was delivering, rather my focus was on watching his flagged car with a red beacon, standing just beside the venue where we were gathered and DC was delivery the speech. I just slipped off and headed towards the car and touched the flag and the car too and felt real joy. But when tried to touch the car again, the driver shouted and ran after me and I had to get lost. The story goes long as I met that gentleman, the Deputy Commissioner personally in his officer after about 6 months but here I don’t think it appropriate to write a long essay …
Life went on through zig-zags of tough situations and I got entry into Govt Service as a BLOCK DEVELOPMENT OFFICER through the competitive examination of Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services (HPAS) in the year 1995. Posted at Bharmour, a tribal area of Chamba District, and subsequently served in Development Block Dehra Distt Kangra. In the year 2000, shifted to DRDA Solan as Project Officer and immediately to DRDA Chamba afterward in the same post. Served at DRDA Bilaspur too and in the year 2011 got inducted into HPAS. As BDO and Project Officer DRDA achieved many milestones in putting a mark and traveled across the country to study various rural development schemes and the way how many states are implementing these schemes with efficiency and greater success rates. Replicated such successful practices in my districts and achieved really remarkable degree of success. During this period I also had an opportunity to visit the great place (country) EGYPT to study different agriculture practices that were being implemented successfully in desert conditions. The course was for 3 months and had the opportunity to study the entire country from North to South and East to West. And the second opportunity was to visit Bangladesh to study sanitation practices that were being adopted even in villages there successfully and the whole of Bangladesh was becoming open defecation free (ODF).
As HPAS Officer served as RTO Mandi for about 8 months then transferred to Chachiyot (Gohar) as Sub Divisional Magistrate there. Subsequently, I shifted to Sundernagar as Sub Divisional Magistrate again and served for about 2.5 years. Then transferred to Paonta Sahib in the year 2015 and remained there as Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) till January 2018 and shifted to Dharampur in District Mandi on the same post. Further as registrar in HP Technical University Hamirpur with an additional charge of Joint Director of Medical College Hamirpur. Subsequently as Assistant Commissioner (LR) to Deputy Commissioner Solan and then Assistant Commissioner to Divisional Commissioner Kangra and at present as COMMISSIONER, Municipal Corporation Mandi w.e.f 13th April 2022.
Life traveled through rough weather where one may get washed off but again the grace of the almighty is supreme and I found an opportunity in every tough situation times.
The objective of my present blog website is just to share my life experiences with the world and mostly the younger ones who may get benefited. The present endeavor of creating a website is a kind of pursuing my writing and reading hobby and it is neither commercial nor with some kind of intention of competing with anyone in any field.
The articles and write-ups and even videos on this website are mostly of my personal experiences of my own life and of course from the lives of the great successful people whom I read and listen to regularly.
I am indebted to my great parents, my loving siblings, my always supporting kids, my wife, and all my dearest friends who stood with me in my whole life and of course the turbulent times. Naming all here is impossible but you must know that the greatest strengths are always hidden and un-named.
