EVOLUTION OF UNIVERSE-FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES

Anybody existing on this planet or anything that is present here is fundamentally and directly connected to the universe, meaning thereby that we are products of the universe and whatever exists in the universe, exists within us all, as well. But how many of us are aware of this fact ? I believe its a very small, rather negligible number and this is the basic reason of huge sufferings and pains among the humanity. Because it is known fact that farther you travel from the reality, you will pass through highest levels of pains and stress. So before starting any career planning or any other kind of preparation or study we must know the basics of our existence as who are we, why we here on the planet, what should we strive to achieve here and so on. So I am presenting a brief article as how the universe was evolved initially according to two different theories i.e. vedic and modern scientific theory. I believe that readers would necessarily get basic insight of the subject. So lets dive in….

SCIENTIFIC VIEW

The origins and formation of the infinite universe is a topic that has fascinated scientists and philosophers for many previous centuries. While our understanding of the universe is continually evolving, the prevailing scientific theory that describes its formation is the Big Bang theory. According to this theory, the universe began as a singularity, a point of extremely high density and temperature, about 13.8 billion years ago. At the moment of the Big Bang, the universe rapidly expanded and continued to do so, a phenomenon known as cosmic inflation. This eexpansion caused matter and energy to spread out and cool down, eventually forming galaxies, stars, and other cosmic structures.

During initial stages of the universe’s evolution, matter consisted mainly of elementary particles such as protons, neutrons, and electrons. As the universe expanded and cooled further, these particles combined to form atoms, primarily hydrogen and helium. These atoms eventually clumped together under the force of gravity, giving rise to the formation of galaxies and other large-scale structures. Over billions of years, stars formed within galaxies. The intense pressure and temperature inside stars ignited nuclear fusion, where hydrogen atoms fused together to form helium, releasing vast amounts of energy in the process. Through stellar evolution, stars produced heavier elements like carbon, oxygen, and iron, which were scattered into space when the stars eventually died in supernova explosions.

This process continued, with new generations of stars forming from the remnants of older stars, enriching the universe with even more heavy elements. Within these stellar nurseries, planetary systems like our own Solar System emerged, with planets forming around stars. The formation and evolution of the universe is an ongoing process, with galaxies continuing to move apart from each other due to the expansion of space. Scientists are continually studying and exploring the universe to gain a deeper understanding of its origins and the fundamental forces and particles that govern its behavior.

VEDIC VIEW

In certain Indian philosophical and spiritual traditions, the concept of Panchabhuta, meaning “five elements,” is used to explain the formation of the universe. According to Rig Veda, the universe is composed of five fundamental elements: Earth (Prithvi), Water (Jala), Fire (Agni), Air (Vayu), and Space/Ether (Akasha).

it is believed that the universe originated from a primordial cosmic principle known as Mahatattva or Prakriti, which represents the undifferentiated cosmic energy. This energy is said to have manifested into the five elements, which are considered the building blocks of all matter and existence.

The process of creation in this context involves the interaction and combination of these five elements. It is believed that Earth (Prithvi) element provides stability and solidity, Water (Jala) element represents fluidity and cohesion, Fire (Agni) element signifies transformation and energy, Air (Vayu) element represents movement and expansion, and Space/Ether (Akasha) element symbolizes the medium that accommodates everything.

According to this perspective, the interplay of these elements gives rise to the formation of various objects and phenomena in the universe. For example, the combination of Earth and Water elements can result in the creation of plants and living organisms, while the interaction of Fire and Air elements can give rise to weather phenomena like winds and storms.

It’s important to note that the concept of Panchabhuta and its explanation of the universe’s creation is rooted in ancient Indian philosophy and metaphysics. While it offers a different perspective on the origins of the universe, it is not a scientific theory in the conventional sense and does not align with the current scientific understanding of cosmology.

In the first phase we just need to know this much about the basic fundamental of universe existence and it is also to be kept in mind that whatever elements have played major role in formation of matter, time, energy and space has also constructed and evolved human body.

This is important to know these facts and in coming articles we will develop more focused insight about the human evolution and related matter…..
