HELLO DOSTO! how are you all?? hope all are fine and all are inside the homes ..hahaha because only then you can be fine otherwise there is very less scope of you being fine… My mind was looking for something to do right now but was not sure what I should do and how to feed my empty mind..so an idea suddenly came to my mind to write down an event that took place during the month of March ..very interesting you will find.
It was the 20th day of March 2020 and our Honourable Prime Minister had appealed to the countrymen to observe a complete “band” which was termed as Janta Curfew on 22nd March.
Friends, I am a member of a WhatsApp group that has 23 members in all and this group is really the oldest one, about 3 years old. We all are very close friends and all are well placed and one interesting feature is that all belong to far-flung places i.e 2 from Jammu and Kashmir ( One Retired senior bureaucrat and another is KVK Scientist), 3 from Uttrakhand ( 2 hoteliers, 1 Engineer), 4 from Chandigarh ( 2 Industrialists and One very senior bank officer another a senior journalist), One from Andaman and Nicobar ( UT cadre Civil Services officer), 1 from Delhi (Senior bureaucrat in ministry of RD) 1 from Noida ( Digital Marketer ), 3 are from Punjab ( Professors / Lecturer in Private University), One Senior Scientist in ICAR in Haryana and rest are from HP senior people. Please hold on, don’t get bored and shout at the fact that why I am going to elaborate about them in such elaborate details… It’s really important to explain the level and place of living of my friends. Actually, we are a really very close-knit sort of community and keep meeting off and on and always discussing bigger issues of national and international issues… hahaha. like we are to decide the whole thing. We usually discuss, like everyone else that Govt should do this, Govt has taken the wrong decision it should have been like that and it’s not minutes, we keep discussing such things for hours… and blabla. I believe you got my point…great!!
Let’s come to the point friends. It was 20th March and in view of Janta Curfew we discussed very minutely how we all are going to pass the day and what should we be doing all the days… Very highly qualified, experienced, and placed brains were assigned a great job and many things came out. Some told that they will play cards with kids and family, and few told that they would be sleeping the whole day and enjoy “Curfew”. Some told that they will involve with kids and teach them their syllabus, a friend from the Southern part said that he will cook nice food for family and all… One of my friends suggested that in view of the CORONA outbreak we all should perform Yagya means HAWAN. He elaborated on the benefits of HAWAN in detail and explained also the scientific facts and findings conducted by various universities and institutes. He made it very much clear that the vapors that HAWAN fire emits purify the entire house and kill dangerous viruses and bacteria instantly and also purify the thought process and mindset of those taking part in this process thereby bringing down the stress levels. He revealed that the fumes emitted from Hawankund drive away all evils and creates a protective layer around our house and even the village which remains intact for about a month. He further elaborated that it purifies the air and thereby our breathing process and makes us healthy and stress-free.
All accepted the proposal eagerly and started further planning for it. A size of hawankund, direction, samidha and hawan-samagri was even decided. Now the main issue was the HAWAN-MANTRA. What type of Mantra would be recited and by whom? “PanditJiKahan se aayengebhai” ??? One of our very senior friends asked us all to be shocked.
Our friend again gave a solution and told us that first, we should open the process with the recitation of the Gayatri Mantra, and later we will recite Maha-Mrityunjaya Mantra. Then only OM with SAWAHA for AAHOOTI (offering). So everything was set in the right perspective.
A Pandit was consulted for the right MUHURAT on 22nd and Samagri and everything was arranged by the evening except 3 friends. They expressed their inability just by making excuses as everybody does in routine life. It was decided that all will get up early in the morning at 5 am and get ready with all family members by 7 am. The muhurat was 7.10 am and no one will chat or discuss until completion by 10 am.
Finally, 22nd came and the process was about to commence. I got up early in the morning as per the schedule and a message of “OM Namah Shivaya” was sent to the group by 5 friends. I also responded with OM NAMAH SHIVAYA. All started and got ready with HAWAN KUND and SAMIDHA. I started exactly at 7.10 am. And completed the process by 10 am in all respect.
7 persons completed and messaged “Om Namah Shivaya”. But Din’treceive from 13 friends as 3 were already out.
I made a call to 6, 7 people as their whereabouts were not known in the group. You will be shocked to know that 6 friends were still sleeping at 12 noon on confirmation. I tried to know the reasons as to how it happened …
4 friends had a similar response that they just wanted to relax so dint gets up for HAWAN…
3 told that their wives dint allows it by saying the shining costly tiles and walls will become dark with the fumes of HAWAN so they dint allow it…
2 told that their kids are adamant and saying that Papa how can you be so old-fashioned and traditional?
2 said that ” yarbhaikyahogayabaadmaikarlengena”. But we will do it for sure…
It was damn shocking for 3 of us as the most important thing that we discussed for 2 days continuously, planned every bit of activities, and now finally see the people who never objected and even showed a high level of seriousness and gave many valuable inputs.
My nature is a little bit fragile and I made exit from the group and my other two friends too left the group same time… after the silence of two days we started receiving calls from some friends and they agreed to do it as the complete lockdown was imposed by that time…
Now today we reached 17 number who performed HAWAN today for the third time.
What I want to focus on here is…
– Are we really committed to what we discuss and Plan?
– Are We able to understand the high value of our Vedic tradition?
– Have we been able to transfer the value of our traditions and rich culture to our children?
– Do our children know that the Rishi Munis of old times were high-caliber and professional scientists?
– Would it be possible for us to survive without healthy roots?
– As the head of the family, isn’t our duty to learn the basic values and transfer them to our children?
– To what extent we are converting our thoughts into actions/
– Does your high degree guarantee that you are a good leader?
– If you are not able to lead your inn-soul and family then what type of life are you leading?
There were so many questions that arose in my mind and asked our friends. Consequently, we lost 5 senior friends from the group forever but got 2 new friends so now we are 20 in a group…
We resolved that on every Sunday we will perform HAWAN with family members and read and discuss our religious books like ShriMadbhagwad Gita, Shiv Purana, Vishnu Purana, SakandPurana, Ramayan, and Mahabharata.
we are doing it continuously and today was the third HAWAN that we performed…
No CORONA, any Virus or Bacteria can stay in around for such a long time … That is the Power of HAWAN.
But please comment on the story and what we are doing to ourselves right now? Are we committed to ourselves???
Ask yourself this question and Comment…
